Inspiring Bright Futures

Imagine your child is an aspiring artist but they can only paint during school hours. When inspiration strikes at home, there are no brushes, no paint... just ideas with no canvas to create.

Opening Doors for the Next Generation

Now, think about a student who dreams of graphic design, coding or computer programing. Without a computer of their own, opportunities are limited. Homework, creativity and learning a new skill all take a back seat. At Shift2, we’re changing that. By providing refurbished laptops to students who need them, we’re opening doors to learning, creativity, and future careers whenever time and inspiration strike.

For refugee families, feeling connected is key to building a sense of safety and belonging. Through our work with many resettlement organizations in Rochester, Shift2 has helped equip more than 100 families with laptops to ease their transition.

The computers help with important things like learning English, completing schoolwork, searching for jobs and accessing helpful resources online. And these second-life devices also help these families to stay connected and feel less alone in a new place.
