The people at Shift2 are hands-on, community-minded, and genuinely invested in the work. From refurbishing devices to building partnerships across Rochester, every member of the team shows up with the same goal: getting quality technology to the people and organizations that need it most.
We look for people who are nimble, honest, and good at building relationships. People who say yes to new ideas, follow through on commitments, and treat everyone who walks through our doors with respect. The work is technical, but the mission is human, and that balance shapes everything about how we operate.
Shift2 is a place where no task is too small and no contribution goes unnoticed. Whether it’s processing a batch of laptops, coordinating a distribution, or welcoming volunteers, the team approaches it all with the same energy and care.

The following values guide our work, both within our organization, and with our supporters, non-profit partners and the greater community:
- MAKING POSITIVE CONNECTIONS: We work in close partnership with many community-based organizations, companies and individuals to accomplish our mission. These meaningful relationships help to maximize our resources and execute our vision. Embracing and enhancing these relationships are critical to our success.
- BEING NIMBLE: We work diligently to adapt to the changing field of technology and the needs of our community. This includes a positive outlook and saying “yes” to new ideas and opportunities.

- GRACIOUS: We show gratitude for all the support provided to our organization (technology donations, in-kind resources and financial contributions). We maximize the impact of every dollar, donation and asset. Additionally, we commit to reducing the environmental impact of electronic waste (e-waste) by responsibly recycling obsolete technology.
- FRIENDLY, NON-JUDGEMENTAL: We believe that achieving digital equity and inclusion starts with a welcoming and open-minded approach.
