Our Process
Following the Impact
Each computer donated to Shift2 receives a unique barcode asset tag and is scanned into our database to track the essential information as it moves through the entire process. Information that is collected includes: date, donor company, computer model/type/serial number, internal component details (RAM, processor, battery health, graphics card details, etc.), date of the hard drive wipe and ultimately the recipient organization.

Transforming used Technology
Corporate technology donations play a big role in our Shift2 mission. Receiving larger quantities of similar computer models helps streamline our refurbishment process and allows us to provide schools and nonprofit organizations with matching devices. Also, by having similar models of computers it allows us to provide the right accessories (i.e. the correct wattage laptop charger) to encourage a strong second digital life of the device.
