We believe every person deserves technology that reflects quality and care. With a focus on quality, the Shift2 team thoroughly and individually checks each computer to ensure its in top-condition for the next owner.
High Standards
Shift2 has a high quality standard for computers distributed to our program partners. Some of the areas that would fail our quality-check include a worn mouse track pad, key/mouse button not working, cosmetic issue, damaged screen, bad/broken computer port, missing keys, loose screen and broken case.
Any computers with these flaws are not fit for full re-distribution but will be carefully curated through the next steps. The computer would either be a candidate for a battery swap, a 3rd party partner for reuse or harvest the internal components for reuse and recycling.
A device you’re proud to receive
Our computer recipients deserve technology that is reliable, professional and ready to support their goals. Each computer we distribute through our program fee meets this criteria:
- High-quality physical condition (reflects normal wear, light scratches)
- Optimized for Windows 11 operating system
- Battery health of 80% or higher for laptops
- Each laptop is paired with the correct wattage and plug style charger for the computer.
- All desktop computers are matched with a monitor, keyboard, computer mouse and necessary cords and cables for the setup.
