Extending the life of electronics
Shift2 has a dedicated workspace for our team to swap batteries between laptops so we can distribute a complete computer that meets our quality criteria. Swapping a laptop with a strong battery health (80%+) but with a cosmetic issue, into a like-new cosmetic computer with a weaker battery. This allows us to maintain our standards for our program technology and to keep a computer whole, as long as possible.
Paying attention to the Parts and Pieces
Our Shift2 team works hard to find value and a secondary use for internal computer components. This includes RAM sticks, CPU chips, graphics cards, loose hard drives, laptop chargers, video cables and power cords. These items are collected, tested, inventoried and then sent out as batches for reuse with our third-party technology reuse partners.
