Megan stepped into the role of Executive Director in 2020 as the organization’s first, entering the role in the middle of a global pandemic. From day one, the work was clear: expand community partnerships, build relationships with companies donating used equipment, pursue new funding, and get quality technology into the hands of people who needed it most. She’s been doing exactly that ever since.

Under her leadership, Shift2 has provided computers to students facing economic hardship, recent graduates heading to college, nonprofits running on outdated equipment, and families without reliable access to technology at home. The impact reaches thousands of people across the Rochester region.

One program worth highlighting is Shift2’s partnership with Holy Childhood’s Adult Community Habilitation Program, which began in 2021. Two days a week, a team of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities comes into the Shift2 office and warehouse to help with the computer refurbishment process. It’s an inclusive, welcoming environment where participants build real job skills and work toward greater independence. This year, the program was featured at Shift2’s Key Celebration, and hearing directly from the volunteers about what it means to them says more than any write-up could.

This isn’t Megan’s first recognition. In 2019 she was named an ATHENA Young Professional Finalist, and in 2022 she was named to the Rochester Business Journal’s Forty Under 40. Each one a reflection of the same thing: consistent, committed work toward a community where access to technology isn’t determined by zip code or income.
