Now Hiring: Shift2 Account Coordinator
Shift2 is a local non-profit organization with a mission to maximize the usefulness of existing technology to make a positive impact on people’s lives, the community and the environment.
The Account Coordinator plays an important role in advancing the mission of Shift2. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with Shift2’s program team and volunteers. The Account Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and growing the number of recipient organizations in our mission-focused program with a key aspect in growing our mission impact is through the creation of a Community Outreach Committee.
This in-person, full-time position requires great verbal and written communication skills, project management skills, an open-minded attitude, willingness to learn and a genuine desire to make meaningful connections with organizations to make a difference in people’s lives and future.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with non-profit and educational institutions that have a need for technology in their organization. The goal is to distribute 50-100 devices each month to non-profits and schools through our program (independent of other Shift2 grant-funded covered computers).
- Coordinate the entire order process from initial conversation to final delivery of the computers
- Prepare invoices for program fee payments and coordinate payment with the organization before an order becomes active in our system
- Manage expectations as it relates to turnaround times with internal teams and recipients
- Prepare the technology for the orders (activating the licenses for the computers) and ensure all computers, cords, components and accessories are correct for each order
- Respond to the recipient organizations in a timely basis regarding any questions, challenges, or problems with the technology through all stages of the process (Expectation is no longer than 2 business days)
- Maintain a database of contacts while clearly communicating due dates for orders with all team members and the recipient organization
Create and lead Shift2’s Community Outreach Committee to ensure we have a direct line of communication with leaders who understand the technology need in our region.
- The Community Outreach Committee should be at least 6 members, most of whom are representing an organization that received computers from our organization in the past.
- Committee must meet every 2 months (at a minimum) to discuss potential contacts that would benefit from new or updated technology for their program.
Capture and record success stories that highlight the impact the distributed computers had on an organization or an individual person/family. This may include photos, videos, written letters/cards for Shift2 to share on our website, social media or in print.
Work collaboratively with internal teams to support Shift2’s mission. This includes being hands-on for the inventory receiving, processing, and preparing computers through our program.
Embrace and embody the responsibility of responsibly recycling and handling of used technology for the betterment of our planet and overall community health.
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, which may requires regular physical inventory counts to reconcile any discrepancies. Communicate effectively with the internal team as to project updates and status for active orders.
Take initiative to share the mission and impact of Shift2 to more program partners in the community.

- Able to maintain a tidy workspace and abide by safety requirements.
- Physically capable to lift 25 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in marketing, technology or computer-related fields would be helpful. At least 2 years of relevant work experience in-person, preferably within an office or warehouse environment.
Salary/Benefits/Other Information
- The salary range for this position is between $35,000 and $42,000
- Shift2 offers a 50% employer paid health insurance plans and generous paid time off policy (including 10 company holidays).
- This position can involve periodic travel throughout the Rochester and surrounding communities. Candidates must have the availability to work 37.5 hours per week, with availability generally between 9 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday. Working hours can be flexible depending on the scope of work being done, with periodic support of events that may be in the evening or on the weekend.

Now Hiring: Shift2 Computer Technician (part-time)
Shift2 is a local non-profit organization with a mission to maximize the usefulness of existing technology to make a positive impact on people’s lives, the community and the environment.
The Computer Technician will play a supporting role for Shift2’s technology processing and fulfilment. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with Shift2’s program team and volunteers. The primary tasks will involve testing and evaluating the strength of donated computer equipment and preparing the devices for distribution.
This in-person, part-time position requires strong communication skills, ability to follow a process, and strong project management skills, while having an open-minded attitude, willingness to learn and a genuine desire to make a difference in people’s lives and the environment.
Responsibilities:
The Computer Technician at Shift2 directly contributes to the day-to-day business operations of Shift2 and is responsible for maximizing the potential of the technology to be redistributed or reused. This includes being hands-on for the inventory receiving, processing, and preparing computers through our program.
- Assigning the Shift2 asset tag and input the computer information into database (potentially needing to create a new donor company record). Other steps include processing hard drives through data wiping, installing operating system, activating the Windows license, and updating computer details in the database.
- Prepare computers for distribution by physically cleaning the devices and bundling necessary accessories. This may involve pairing a laptop with a charger, or gathering a monitor, power cords, video cables, computer keyboard and mouse for a desktop computer.
- Assist with documentation updates, database maintenance and proper record keeping for our inventory.
- Test the donated monitors, keyboards, mice, power chargers, docking stations and cords for working ability.
- Properly sort, test, store, and label working accessories and individual cables so they can be re-used or redistributed
- Deconstruct any damaged/defective computers to retrieve elements for recycling (circuit boards, hard drives, batteries, aluminum, copper, RAM, CPU). Abiding by necessary safety measure and safe handling practices (i.e. wearing gloves, eye protection, using proper tools and washing hands whenever necessary)
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, which may require regular physical inventory counts to reconcile any discrepancies. Communicate effectively with the internal team as to project updates and status for active orders.

Salary/Benefits/Other Information
- This will be a part-time opportunity with a work schedule of 20 hours a week. The hourly rate would start at $19.
- Candidates must have the availability to work 20 hours per week (in increments of no less than 3 hours), between the Shift2 work hours of 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Work schedule days of the week and hours of work to be determined by the candidate.
- Payroll is processed every two weeks with direct deposit option available.
- A job of this category may involve frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds. A job in this category may also involve standing most of the time.
